WEG  announced today the signing of an agreement to acquire the Power Controls Solutions (PCS) business of U.S.-based L&S Electric for US$ 11 million. Located in Rothschild, Wisconsin (USA), the PCS operation specializes in supplying governors and excitation systems for power generation plants, with a strong presence in the North American hydropower sector.

With an installed base of more than 1,200 hydroelectric generating units and providing solutions to major utilities across the United States and Canada, this acquisition reinforces WEG's strategy to expand its presence in the North American power generation market and strengthen the operations of REIVAX North America, a WEG Group company specialized in excitation systems and governors for power generation. In 2025, the PCS operation generated US$ 9.6 million in net operating revenue.

"This acquisition is aligned with WEG's sustainable growth strategy and strengthens our position in the North American power generation market. The combination of REIVAX's excitation system technology with the open-architecture governors developed by L&S Power Controls Solutions expands our portfolio of solutions for hydroelectric plant modernization and enhances our ability to serve customers with an even more comprehensive and competitive offering," said Manfred Peter Johann, WEG's Vice President of Automation & Systems.
