A major agro-industrial group with over 60 years of experience in the Mexican sugarcane industry has chosen WEG technology to modernize its operations. On this occasion, the company received a medium voltage frequency drive, model MVW3000, rated at 1250 HP and 4160 V input, which was installed in the milling system of its plant.
The supplied drive, assembled at WEG’s new Automation plant in Mexico, is the second MVW3000 unit produced locally, highlighting the company's ability to deliver high-tech solutions manufactured at its facilities worldwide. This upgrade has enabled the customer to optimize milling process control, resulting in greater efficiency and improved precision in sugarcane crushing, a key raw material in its agro-industrial operations.
Among the most valued aspects by the customer were the on-time delivery, the product’s cost-benefit ratio, and the potential for a second project phase: using the same drive for the direct start-up of a shredder, later connected to the grid via an industrial communication protocol.
The MVW3000 is a medium voltage frequency converter that offers a fully integrated solution, with a high-power factor (>0.95), easy maintenance, and an output waveform close to sinusoidal. Designed with a user-friendly graphical interface, it follows the same programming logic as WEG’s low voltage drives, making configuration and operation easier.
With this delivery, WEG reinforces its commitment to developing customized solutions for the Mexican agro-industrial sector, bringing innovation and reliability to every project.
