WEG Electric Machinery (WEM) offers both new and replacement motors for commercial-grade nuclear applications, including environmentally qualified and safety-related motors and generators. WEM specializes in custom designing form-fit-functional replacement motors for existing WEM machinery and other OEM equipment. With many motors and generators installed at nuclear power plants, some of which have operated for over 40 years, WEM has a proven track record of reliability. WEM maintains a rigorous quality program in compliance with ISO 9001, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and ASME NQA-1 standards.

WEM motors and generators are equipped with the DuraguardTM insulation system. The DuraguardTM insulation system is a vacuum pressure impregnated epoxy-mica insulation system that provides Class F thermal capability, outstanding dielectric properties, superior moisture and chemical resistance and the superb mechanical integrity of an epoxy resin system. It is a sealed insulation system capable of passing the water immersion test specified by NEMA MG 1 and IEEE. Additionally, an abrasion-resistant coating is available for protection in harsh environments.
